About Me
Inspired to Help Others Grow
Since early 2015, I’ve been working as a state certified and licensed counselor in Ohio, who specializes in helping people with substance use disorders; primarily those who struggle with opiates, tobacco, and cannabis. During the process of growing in the field of helping those with substance use disorders I unexpectedly recognized that I was also working with people who struggle with anxiety, self-esteem, setting boundaries, and a fear of titrating (weaning) from a prescription provided through medication assisted treatment (MAT). In the course of my professional growth, I identified a gap of services and support being provided to people with identified and unidentified mental health issues or concerns, and from my professional experience I have found that when mental health is not properly addressed, it has the ability and opportunity to lead to addictive behaviors or increased physical and or mental health issues. It is my mission to provide individualized therapeutic care to those who desire to improve their quality of life by gaining or regaining a better understanding of themselves and their overall life.

Cancellation Policy
This cancellation policy in not a punishment.
Keep in mind that a cancelled appointment does the following: pauses your treatment for you to reach your desired goal and hinders the goal of another client who could have potentially used your time slot. All sessions for Ameliorate Counseling are scheduled in advance and are reserved exclusively for our clients.
When a session is cancelled without adequate notice, we are unable to fill this time slot by offering it to another current client, a client on the wait list, or a client with a clinical emergency.
Without a cancellation fee policy in place, your therapist will lose the opportunity to schedule another client if you arrive late without active communication, cancel, or simply put no call no show.
Our cancellation policy is this: Clients can cancel or reschedule an appointment anytime, with a min 30-minute notice. If you cancel an appointment with less than 30 minutes of notice, or fail to show up, you will be charged a $175 fee. If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment time without prior notice, it will be treated like a late cancellation and will be charged the fee of $175 instead of your regular rate.
Some practices have a 48-hour policy or a 24-hour policy; Ours is 30 minutes, and we are firm with said policy, due to understanding that life happens on life’s terms and somethings are out of our control.
This cancellation policy in not a punishment.
* A fee of $175 will be charged when you miss or cancel an appointment without giving the generous 30-minute notice.
*For Saturday 1-hour notice is required.
You can cancel your appointment by calling, texting, or emailing; with today’s technology we receive the message within seconds.
**Special Circumstances: The cancellation fee is waivable in the event of serious or contagious illness or extreme weather or other unavoidable circumstances. If you have additional questions, please contact for further assistance.
Please understand that counseling should be viewed as any other important medical appointment would be viewed.
Be mindful in knowing that counseling is a commitment, this is for your personal growth to improve your quality of life and consistency is part of the foundation for improvement.
If you miss 3 scheduled appointments within 3 months consecutively without cancelling or rescheduling based on your verbally and or written understanding and acceptance of the cancellation policy, the therapeutic relationship will be terminated and appropriate referrals to other practices will be offered. Understand we put forth great effort to work with all possible scheduling issues.
You may return to therapeutic services after 6 months of being terminated. Additionally, understand you may be put on a waitlist if there is no availability. This is standard practice with most therapy agencies and private practice offices.
Remember, you requested our counseling services therefore it is your responsibility to actively communicate any scheduling conflicts so that you can continue to receive the best care possible.
*** Disclaimer: counselors will also abide by the minimum 30-minute notice if cancellation is needed on their end and therefore client will receive a 50% discount on the next scheduled session.
